Weekend House (Falling Water)

Peter Blume was a close friend of the Edgar M. Kaufmann, Jr.'s who had commissioned Frank Lloyd Wright to design a weekend house for them in Pennsylvania. Mr. Kaufmann's father had expressed interest in purchasing Blume's painting The Eternal City (collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York). Blume was invited to spend a weekend at "Falling Water" with his dealer Julien Levy and his wife to consummate the transaction. Weekend House documents this and subsequent visits to the house. Mrs. Kaufmann is shown fishing in the waters below the house. Fishing was her great passion.
